Our team consists of three subgroups:
Build,
Admin and
Controls. Below you will find details on the unique qualities and responsibilities of each team as well as the members in each group.
Build Team
Our build team is in charge of designing and assembling the mechanical structure of the robot. This includes the drive train, lifting mechanism and gripper. The build team also calculates the designs' feasibility, such as speed and torques asserted on the motor given certain situations. They also have to make sure that every design adheres to the guidelines set by the game rules.
Admin Team
The Administration team (or
Admin for short) is the heart of the team. They are in charge of unifying The Discobots by creating the team's image, as well as developing a website so that all members are up to date with the events going on. Also, they are in charge of documenting and photographing the process of building the robot so that next year's team will have reference material. In addition, they plan outreach activities in hopes of spreading science and technologies to other students. Click on any of the member's image below to view their profile.
Controls Team
The Controls Team is the brain of our team. They are the ones that deeply understand the innards of the robot. They do all the wiring and connections as well as the programming. Also, they created the operator interface so that the drivers will be able to use it intuitively. Click on an image below to view any member's profile.
